Mexico: How Far Have its Institutions Really Come?
The question remains if Mexico has achieved a degree of institutional development consistent with its participation in those organizations.
Alicia Bárcena, Mexican Ambassador to Chile and newly appointed Foreign Minister, received the Order of Merit in the degree of “Grand Cross” by the Foreign Minister of Chile, the highest distinction Chile grants foreign citizens.
The Chilean foreign minister highlighted Bárcena’s extensive career in Chile and said, “es la mujer mexicana que mejor nos conoce...ha realzado el diálogo bilateral, el trabajo conjunto y el profundo capital cultural que Chile y México han acumulado durante casi dos siglos.”
