Mayors Summit: Shared Challenges, Shared Solutions
The Inter-American Dialogue, in partnership with the Office of the Mayor of Los Angeles and CAF-Development Bank of Latin America, will be hosting the first Mayors Summit on June 7, 2022 ahead of the IX Summit of the Americas to be held in Los Angeles from June 6-10, 2022.
This event will highlight the potential for collaboration between cities to share innovative solutions to address the impact of climate change and the myriad of challenges that have been exacerbated by the pandemic, including migration, education loss, inequality, and unemployment. The conversation will be divided into two sessions with discussions lead by Mayors and other partners. The first session will focus on sustainability and climate action and the second on migration and building inclusive communities. The objective of the Mayors Summit is to deepen the policy agenda between cities across the Americas in addition to share and compile best practices in order to better respond to today’s most pressing issues.
