Christiana Figueres, Inter-American Dialogue member and Former Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), is part of the BBC's 100 Women 2023. The list includes inspiring and influential women from around the world.
BCC highlights Figueres for her career as a diplomat and climate negotiator.
"Thanks in part to her work, almost 200 parties signed the landmark 2015 Paris agreement - an international treaty that sets the commitment to keep the rise in mean global temperature to "well below" 2.0 C° above pre-industrial levels."
