Raquel Artecona has been an economic affairs officer at the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean since 2008. Her research focuses on trade, investment, and regional integration. Recent projects include the new industrial policy in advanced economies, the role of multilateral development institutions on supporting development in Latin America and the Caribbean, US health care reform and trade in services, technical standards and US market access and studies on commercial relations between the United States and Latin American and Caribbean countries.

Artecona also provided technical and analytical support to the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) process and has worked with multilateral and regional development banks on a variety of trade and development projects. Before joining ECLAC, she was an economic analyst at the World Bank where she conducted research on gender, trade, and labor issues.

Artecona was an event speaker at the Dialogue.
