Karla Berdichevsky Feldman is the director of the the National Centre for Gender Equity and Reproductive Health, a unit of the Sub-secretariat for Prevention and Health Promotion of Mexico. The National Centre for Gender Equity and Reproductive Health is responsible for national policies for family planning and contraception, sexual and reproductive health, cervical cancer, breast cancer, maternal and perinatal health, gender equality, and prevention and care of family violence.

Berdichevsky Feldman is a surgeon graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico with a master of science in public health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in England.

She has worked as a consultant in various international and national organizations, including the United Nations Population Fund; the Population Council; the Pan American Health Organization and World Health Organization; the Regional Working Group for the Reduction of Maternal Mortality and Family Care International; and the MacArthur Foundation, among others. She was a medical advisor at the General Directorate of International Affairs of the Ministry of Health from 2000 to 2001.
