Eric Hershberg

Eric Hershberg is director of the Center for Latin American and Latino Studies and a professor of government at American University. From 2007-2009 he was President of the Latin American Studies Association while serving as professor of political science and director of Latin American Studies at Simon Fraser University, in Vancouver, Canada. From 1990-2006 he worked as a program director at the Social Science Research Council in New York City. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and has taught at New York University, Southern Illinois University, Columbia, Princeton, and the New School. His research has focused primarily on the comparative politics of Latin America and on the political economy of development in the region.

Hershberg was an event speaker at the Dialogue.
