Blum has had an extensive career in politics for more than 20 years. In 2006, Blum served as the permanent representative of Colombia to the United Nations. Prior to this, she served as a senator of Colombia and, in 2005, was became the first woman to serve as president of the Senate. Blum has published several books on the Colombian government and her career as a legislator, and writes frequently for El País, a Colombian newspaper.
Blum joined the Dialogue’s President Leadership Council in early 2018 and has been an active member of its meetings and events since.
