Carolina Celedón is a student at Dickinson College where she will receive a B.A. in Latin American, Latinx, and Caribbean Studies and a minor in Portuguese & Brazilian Studies. Prior to undergrad, she received the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX scholarship), jointly funded by the United States Congress and German Bundestag, to study abroad in Germany. Her primary areas of interest include women’s rights, migrants/refugees, and political activism in the region.
On May 6, 2021, the Inter-American Dialogue hosted the online event, “Healthcare Investment & Economic Recovery in the Americas.” The panel discussed the state of healthcare in the region, and how targeting specific health investments can lead to a more sustainable economic recovery in Latin America and the Caribbean. The event featured welcome remarks by Michael Shifter, with comments from panelists Luis Miguel Castilla, Jaana Remes and Rolf Hoenger.
On March 9, 2021, the Inter-American Dialogue hosted the online event “What Will It Take to Salvage Cuba’s Economy?”. The panel explored what effect the Cuban’s government 2021 economic reforms will have on the economy, the private sector, and Cuban foreign relations.
On March 4, 2021, the Inter-American Dialogue hosted the online event “Connectivity in the Americas” to discuss the challenges to, and necessity of, improving connectivity in the region.
