Daniel Chávez Morán is a leading visionary in Mexico’s real estate industry. He is a founding member of the Inter-American Dialogue’s President’s Leadership Council.

Now retired from the development of hotels and resorts, Chávez Morán founded Grupo Vidanta in 1974 after graduating from the University of Guadalajara with a degree in Civil Engineering. Under his leadership, the company grew to become one of Mexico’s largest hotel and resort operators and one of the most revered employers in Latin America. Today, the company’s portfolio includes more than 25 properties. 

Upon retiring from Grupo Vidanta, Chávez Morán founded the Vidanta Foundation and the Delia Moran Foundation. The Vidanta Foundation, established in 2005, provides grants to innovative organizations and individuals dedicated to advancing democracy, quality education, and equitable development in the region. The Delia Morán Foundation, established in 2013, promotes learning and child development in Mexico’s Vallarta region.
