Guatemala City, Guatemala – The Inter-American Dialogue, a leading DC-based think tank for Latin America and the Caribbean, has opened a new office in Guatemala, expanding its physical presence in the region.

“The new office reflects the Dialogue’s continued commitment to address issues of regional importance and to strengthen its presence via a network of leaders and members,” said Michael Shifter, president of the Inter-American Dialogue.

Eduardo Stein shared his impressions on this occasion: “I have been a member of the Dialogue since its start and establishing an office and activities in Guatemala presents a wonderful opportunity. Beyond a doubt, this will substantially and positively contribute to the [Central American] sub-region.”

The office is strategically located in Zone 9 of Guatemala City in the Aristos Reforma Building, close to the city’s most important government, financial, and diplomatic institutions. It features flexible meeting spaces and modern technologies that enable it to maintain close, real-time connections with Washington.

This new space in Guatemala is a physical representation of the importance and the reach of the Dialogue’s work, in a world in which connections – and dialogue – are ever more important.
