TITLE: Program Assistant, Migration, Remittances and Development

REPORTS TO: Program Director, Migration, Remittances and Development


The Inter-American Dialogue is recruiting a Program Assistant to work with the Dialogue’s Migration, Remittances and Development program. The Program Assistant will be responsible for conducting research, data analysis, and report writing on projects relating to remittances/development in Latin America and the Caribbean. S/he will provide technical and administrative support for projects on topics such as financial inclusion, economic growth, migration governance, etc. S/he will have initiative, excellent analytical and organizational skills, strong problem solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.

Responsibilities include approximately 40% data collection, research, writing, and editing; 40% event planning and communications; and 20% administrative and logistical support. This is an entry-level position.


  • Conduct research and analysis (including statistical analysis) on topics related to migration, remittances, and development.
  • Manage the logistics of public events, conferences, delegations and ad hoc meetings, including drafting event invitations and making travel and lodging arrangements.
  • Write and contribute to reports, articles, op-eds, and blog posts.
  • Coordinate and prepare communications content for the Dialogue’s website and social media platforms.
  • Oversee editing, translation, design, and publication of program reports, memos, press releases, and other materials.
  • Help manage financial logistics of the program; assist with drafting fundraising proposals and reports, managing budgets, invoicing, etc.
  • Oversee the selection and management of the program intern each semester.
  • Provide other administrative and logistical support to the program director as needed.


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Relations, Latin American Studies, or related field.
  • Experience with project management, quantitative research/analysis.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English.
  • Experience using research tools and statistical software for data management.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms. Experience with Adobe InDesign a plus.
  • Experience living, working, and/or studying in Latin America.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven capacity to multitask and work independently.
