Raúl Figueroa Salas is minister of education in Chile. Figueroa previously held the position of deputy secretary of Education until February 2020. Between 2010 and 2014, he was head of the legal division and head of advisors to the Ministry of Education.
In 2014 he founded Acción Educar, a study center that seeks to contribute to the debate on public policies in the field of education, with a quality system that recognizes and safeguards the diversity of educational projects. Between 2014 and 2018, he served as executive director of the institution.
He has been a professor at the law school of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and at the Andrés Bello University. In the latter, he was also academic secretary and director of graduate programs of that faculty.
Figueroa has a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica in Chile and master’s in business law from the Universidad de Los Andes.
