Rasheed Griffith is a non-resident senior fellow with the Asia & Latin America Program at the Inter-American Dialogue. Griffith is the co-founder & chief operating officer of Merkle Hedge, a Canadian financial technology and proprietary trading firm focused on high-frequency trading strategies in cryptocurrency markets. He has previously worked in the finance industry in Southeast Asia and the Caribbean.

Griffith is a visiting research fellow at Future Forum (Cambodia), a director of the Caribbean-ASEAN Council (Philippines), and a George Mason University emergent ventures fellow. He is the host of the ‘China in the Americas Podcast’.

Griffith studied Mandarin Chinese in Beijing and has written several pieces on the triangular relationship of the US-Caribbean-China for publications including The Diplomat and Lawfare. His policy research focuses on China’s geoeconomic and financial engagement with the Caribbean. Griffith has testified before the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission (USCC).
