Nobuaki Hamaguchi

Nobuaki Hamaguchi is a faculty fellow at the Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI) and a professor at the Research Institute for Economics and Business Administration (RIEB) at Kobe University. He is also vice-director of the Japan Association of Latin America and the Caribbean (JALAC). His research interests focus on regional economic integration, international trade, and industrial policy, with particular emphasis on Japan and Brazil. Hamaguchi has published extensively on issues related to regional economies, global value chains, and the socioeconomic impacts of globalization. He frequently presents his research at domestic and international conferences and collaborates with policymakers and scholars on economic development strategies. Hamaguchi holds a Ph.D. in Regional Science from the University of Pennsylvania. He has also held academic positions at various institutions, including serving as a visiting professor at the University of São Paulo.
