Miguel Ceballos Arévalo is a Colombian lawyer who has served as high commissioner for Peace in Colombia since August of 2018. He served as vice minister of Justice during President Alvaro Uribe’s administration. Ceballos was also the director of the Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law Institute at the Sergio Arboleda University and the director of the Human Rights Institute of the Javeriana University, both in Bogotá. As a public servant, he has also served as executive secretary of the National Conciliation Commission, a peace facilitation entity in Colombia.

Ceballos was dean of the School of Politics and International Relations at Sergio Arboleda University in Bogotá; he has been a panelist and analyst on Blu Radio station and columnist at Semana.com. In the United States, he was deneral director of the Colombia Program at Georgetown University in Washington DC and professor, for five years.
