Mauricio Claver-Carone is the president of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) since his election in September 2020. As president of the IDB, he also chairs the Board of Executive Directors of IDB Invest, the private-sector arm of the IDB Group, and the Donors Committee of IDB Lab, the Bank’s incubator for innovative development projects.

Prior to joining the IDB, Claver-Carone served as deputy assistant to US President Donald Trump as well as senior director for Western Hemisphere Affairs at the National Security Council. Previously, he was the US executive director at the International Monetary Fund and, before that, served as senior advisor for international affairs at the US Department of Treasury.
