Maria Victoria Fazio is a senior labor markets specialist at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), where she is driven to find solutions that create better job and training opportunities, especially for youth. She leads projects with a focus on how to harness new digital technologies to promote new job opportunities, how to develop skills for the future of jobs, and how to expand coverage of social security for better jobs in Latin America and the Caribbean. Before joining the IDB, she worked at the World Bank and the IMF. Over the last 20 years she has worked in the areas of  growth, informality, the gig economy, inequality, youth and education. Fazio is the author of  Apprenticeships for the XXI Century: A Model for Latin America and the Caribbean? and E-lancing for LAC: How to Connect Digital Talent with Global Opportunities? She holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Universidad de La Plata in Argentina.
