Laura V. Sánchez-Vincitore directs the Neurocognition and Psychophysiology Laboratory at Ibero-American University (Unibe), where she investigates the neurobiological basis of learning to read and child development. In addition, Sánchez-Vincitore is the monitoring and evaluation specialist for the USAID-Leer project, which aims to improve the reading skills of children in public schools in the Dominican Republic. She is a scientific advisor to the National Institute for Comprehensive Early Childhood Care (INAIPI), where the Dominican Child Development Measurement System (SIMEDID) is being developed with the support of UNICEF.

Since 2018, Sánchez-Vincitore has been a tenured member of the National Research Career of the Dominican Republic. She is also a member of the Academy of Sciences of the Dominican Republic. Sánchez-Vincitore completed her undergraduate studies in school psychology at the Ibero-American University (Unibe). Additionally, she holds a master’s and PhD degrees in neuroscience and education and communication sciences from Columbia University.
