Jean-Michel Lavergne has extensive experience in the oil and gas sector. He currently serves as the President and CEO of Total Exploration & Production (E&P) Americas.
Lavergne has held various positions in the Finance, E&P, and Chemicals divisions of Total in France, the United States, and Nigeria. In August 2019, Lavergne was appointed Total’s Senior Vice President of the Americas division for E&P. Prior to this role, he served as Senior Vice President of Performance for E&P before being appointed Senior Vice President of Strategy, Business Development, and R&D. In September 2016, he became a member of Total’s E&P Management Committee.
Lavergne was the Managing Director of Total E&P Angola in 2011, Total E&P USA in 2008, Total E&P Yemen in 2004, and Total Gas & Power Brazil in 2001.
Lavergne is a graduate of École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris.
