Fernanda Chacón co-leads the Regional Information Management Team (IM) of the Inter-Agency Coordination Platform for Refugees and Migrants from Venezuela. Also known as Response for Venezuelans or R4V, the entity has a presence in 17 Latin American and Caribbean countries. Chacón covers multiple IM aspects of the regional platform co-led by UNHCR and IOM. 

Chacón provides technical support, capacity-building, and guidance to the Inter-Agency’s IM and coordination teams at national and regional levels. Additionally, Chacón has experience in data processing, consolidation, and visualization focused on population data, needs assessments and analysis, program planning data, and monitoring of activities. 

Chacón has worked at the World Food Programme Regional Bureau in Panama, at UNHCR Costa Rica as an IM associate, and in Costa Rica and the United States as a researcher. She holds a master’s degree in international development from the University of California, Berkeley, with a focus on peacebuilding, conflict, and displacement. Additionally, she has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Costa Rica.
