Eliana Perez leads Meta’s engagement and collaboration with Mexico’s Federal Government authorities, autonomous bodies and congresspeople from both the Mexican Senate and the country’s Lower House. Elections integrity collaborations, Covid-19 response products and economic opportunity programs for entrepreneurs and small business owners stand out among the projects that she has spearheaded in the country. Eliana holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations and a postgraduate degree in digital law from the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM). Prior to her tenure at Meta, she worked as director of public affairs in Mexico for another international technology company. She has also held several positions in Mexico’s federal government, namely in the Treasury Department, the State Department, the Social Development Department and the Labor Department. During her time as a federal public servant, she participated as a delegate in negotiations and high-level meetings with the International Monetary Fund and the United Nations. Eliana also served as a senior legislative advisor in Mexico’s Senate.
