Earl is the chief executive officer of The Jamaica National Group and a member of the Board of all the local and overseas subsidiaries of the Group. Jarrett is also chairman of the JN Foundation, Jamaica Automobile Association, JN Cayman and the overseas subsidiary companies of JN Money Services; as well as chairman of the Jamaica Cancer Society, Jamaican Diaspora Foundation and Mona Geoinformatics Institute.

Jarrett previously served as the general manager of the Jamaica National Building Society from 1999 to 2017

A chartered accountant and graduate of The University of the West Indies, Mr. Jarrett is also deputy chairman of the Jamaica Tourist Board. He is the honorary secretary of The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica, and chairman/president of the Executive Board of the Caribbean Association of Housing Finance Institutions (CASHFI). He is also the chairman of the Jamaica Cancer Society and a trustee of the Dudley Grant Memorial Trust and the YWCA Trust. He is a director of the Gleaner Company’s UK and North American Boards. A former council member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica and past President of the Rotary Club of New Kingston, he also served as a member of the National Task Force on Political Tribalism.

Jarrett is a member of the National Council of Jamaica, Order of St John; and The University of the West Indies Mona Campus Council. In October 2008 he received two major awards; he was conferred with the Order of Distinction, in the rank of commander (CD), in the national honors awards by the Government of Jamaica for service in the financial sector. In November 2010, Earl Jarrett was conferred with the Doctor of Laws (LL.D) honoris causa by the University of Technology Jamaica.
