Brian O’Neill is the executive vice president of the Inter-American Development Bank. He previously served as vice chair of Lazard International and as the US deputy assistant secretary of the Treasury.  O’Neill has been a member of the Inter-American Dialogue since 2010.

O’Neill has extensive experience working with governments, financial institutions, and corporate clients globally. He spent 30 years at JP Morgan Chase & Co., where he was managing director and head of investment banking for Latin America.

O’Neill is a member of the Advisory Committee of the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies at Harvard University, a director of the Americas Society, and a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

O’Neill holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of San Diego and a master’s degree from the American Graduate School of International Management.

On Dec. 14, Dialogue Board member Brian O’Neill was appointed as executive vice president and COO of the Inter-American Development Bank. He will assume his new position on January 1, 2019.
