Dr. Blanca Heredia is the director and a research professor of the Interdisciplinary Program on Educational Policy and Practice at the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE). At CIDE, she conducts applied research and social entrepreneurship projects on the intersection of education and economic growth.

As part of her experience, Heredia has been academic secretary at CIDE , academic vice-rector of American University in Paris, and representative of the OECD in Mexico for Latin America. She also served as commissioner for political development at the Ministry of the Interior.

After obtaining a PhD in political Science from Columbia University and a BA in international relations from the Colegio de México, she has been a visiting professor at Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Georgetown University, Northwestern University, University of Notre Dame, Universidad de Salamanca, and Universidad Complutense de Madrid, as well as a consultant for the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank and the Norwegian Development Agency (NORAD), among others. On account of her extensive experience in the media, she is currently a columnist for the newspaper El Financiero.
