Akinyi Ochieng is a Gambian-Kenyan strategist and social impact leader. As Corporate Communications Manager at leading fintech company WorldRemit, she drives high-impact social innovation and global communications and policy programs across the Global South, with a keen interest and passion for Africa. Ms. Ochieng writes about business, culture, and politics in emerging markets for a diverse set of publications including the World Economic Forum Agenda, National Public Radio (NPR), Quartz, Slate, Forbes Middle East, Real Clear Politics, and OkayAfrica, among others. She is an Esther Ocloo Fellow at Botho Emerging Markets Group as well as an advisor to TheBoardroom Africa, a CDC Group-backed initiative that aims to double representation of women in Africa boardrooms by 2028. Ms. Ochieng holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and a BA from Yale University
