Adriana Lliteras is the advisor to the vice presidency of sociodemographics information at the National Institute of Statistics and Geography of Mexico. Lliteras is responsible for analyzing and generating inputs for the governing board regarding planning and budgeting for the better operation of the autonomous organism in charge of developing Mexico’s official statistics, such as population censuses, economic Censuses, and occupation and employment surveys, among others.

In addition, Lliteras has represented the institute in expert groups, such as the UN groups on gender and international migration. Lliteras has supported the construction of relevant indicators for monitoring equality, economic inclusion, and migration governance. Lliteras is also part of the Working Group of the Statistical Commission of the Americas on international migration, which coordinated the participation of 44 ministries and statistical offices of the region and nine agencies of the United Nations system to identify best practices in statistics as well as areas of opportunity to strengthen the production of information for decision making by governments, the private sector, and academia.

Lliteras holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México. She also has certificates in negotiation and conflict management (University of California-Berkeley), management and leadership (Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresa), and the economics of climate change (University of Cambridge).
