This post is also available in: Spanish

This is the first webinar in an event series on evaluation and civil society.

In the declaration published in February 2021, the Civil Society Working Group emphasized the need to conduct a large-scale diagnostic to evaluate the loss of learning during the pandemic, with the goal of informing and guiding recovery actions during reopening.

The objective of this seminar is to discuss and define the components of a formative learning evaluation strategy which can contribute to the levelling efforts necessary to close learning gaps exacerbated by the pandemic. The conversation will focus on three strategic areas:

  • What content or guidelines should be used to align monitoring and evaluation efforts during reopening?
  • Who should play a role in the development and implementation of a diagnostic evaluation strategy during reopening?
  • How can we ensure the effective use of collected data to inform pedagogical strategies in the classroom?

This event will feature experts from civil society, the governments of Mexico and Peru, and UNESCO’s Latin American Laboratory for Assessment of the Quality of Education (LLECE in Spanish).
