ONLINE EVENT: Energy Transition in Latin America – The Role of the Private Sector
As Latin American countries step up their decarbonization goals, capital and technology deployment by the private sector will play a key role in this effort. Companies are already transforming their business models to catalyze the energy transition. Asset managers are pursuing investments in clean technologies. Utilities are advancing the use of renewables, battery storage, and electric vehicle charging technologies. Oil and gas majors are remaking themselves to tackle Scope 1 emissions—for example, by reducing flaring and improving energy efficiency—as well as Scope 3 emissions—by investing in biofuels, hydrogen vehicle charging, carbon capture, use, and storage, and other areas. This event will explore how private companies investing in Latin America are adapting to meet the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition.
