The Inter-American Dialogue is pleased to host a series of high-level conversations with top diplomats from the western hemisphere titled Ambassador Dialogues. Amidst a turbulent political landscape, democratic decline, and challenging economic conditions across the region, bilateral diplomacy remains one of the strongest tools for fostering collaboration and devising innovative solutions to the most critical challenges. The Ambassador Dialogues series engages key ambassadors from Latin America and Caribbean with their US counterparts to explore opportunities for cooperation to address today’s most relevant issues. Trade, migration, democracy, social inclusion, and more will be examined in the context of each unique bilateral relationship.
US-Argentina Relations: Priorities and Opportunities
The Inter-American Dialogue is pleased to host a conversation between Argentina’s Ambassador to the United States, Jorge Argüello, and US Ambassador in Buenos Aires, Marc Stanley. The United States and Argentina have a long history of collaboration that dates to 1823, and they have sought to strengthen the relationship and deepen their collaboration in various areas, including democracy and human rights, climate and energy and education. In 2016, President Barack Obama visited Argentina and announced a number of initiatives to promote economic growth and regional integration. The visit of President Alberto Fernandez to Washington, DC last month was an important milestone in the bilateral relationship, highlighting the commitment of both countries to work together towards a better future.
Join Dialogue President & CEO Rebecca Bill Chavez on Wednesday, May 3, at 2:45 PM EDT for a high-level dialogue with Ambassadors Argüello and Stanley as they discuss priorities and opportunities in the US-Argentina bilateral relationship.
