Segundo Foro Anual de Transporte Limpio en Latinoamérica

As countries around the world seek to address growing energy and transportation needs, electric vehicles represent one of the most important paths to improving energy security and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Globally, the number of cars in circulation is set to double to more than two billion by 2030, and transportation remains the world’s fastest-growing source of energy-related emissions. In Latin America, electric vehicle penetration is growing but still represents a tiny share of overall vehicle sales.

How can the right policies accelerate the deployment of electric vehicles to improve air quality in Latin American cities and reduce the use of fossil fuels? At the Second Annual Latin America Clean Transport Forum in Bogota, we will bring together representatives of Latin American governments, the private sector, academia, and NGOs to discuss impediments and opportunities to promoting the use of electric vehicles in the region. The Inter-American Dialogue report, Green Transportation: The Outlook for Electric Vehicles in Latin America will be distributed at the forum in English and Spanish.
