Chile’s Foreign Policy Priorities
Join Global Americans and the Inter-American Dialogue for a discussion with Chile’s Undersecretary of Foreign Relations, Gloria de la Fuente on Tuesday, May 21 from 3:00 – 4:00 PM EDT.
Undersecretary de la Fuente will reflect on the main trends and challenges facing democracy in Latin America today. The crisis of citizens’ trust in democratic institutions is one such challenge. From Chile’s perspective, protecting democracy in the region requires more and better diplomacy. Additionally, she will discuss the increasing insecurity resulting from transnational organized crime, which demands a coordinated response from Latin American governments. We will also have the opportunity to hear her perspectives on the challenges posed by migration and the climate crisis.
