A Conversation with Assistant Secretary Geoffrey Pyatt

US energy policy towards Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) has seen dynamic changes in recent years. Amidst trade disputes, the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the ensuing energy crisis, and increasingly widespread climate impacts, policymaking has been marked by unpredictability and turbulence. At the same time, regional cooperation around the energy transition has grown, with collaboration marked by topics like incentivizing renewable energy, innovation in clean energy tech, supply chain security, and climate finance.

To learn more about high level trends in US-LAC energy policy, the Inter-American Dialogue is pleased to host a private roundtable conversation with US Assistant Secretary Geoffrey Pyatt, who was sworn in as Assistant Secretary for Energy Resources at the US State Department on September 19, 2022.

The event will take place in person on Monday, April 17, 2023 from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM EDT at the Dialogue’s office in Washington, DC (1155 15th Street NW, Ste 800) and will be open to the Dialogue’s Energy Committee members, as well as other select guests. This meeting is by invitation only. Please contact Daniela Stevens with any questions.
