Barry Featherman Joins the Latin America Advisor’s Board

feathermanphoto_origBarry Featherman has joined the board of advisors of the Inter-American Dialogue’s daily Latin America Advisor.

Featherman is senior director for international government affairs at Gilead Sciences, where he oversees regional and institutional political activity within the access operations, emerging markets and select commercial markets in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. A biopharmaceutical company, Gilead discovers and develops innovative medicines for life-threatening diseases.

Previously, Featherman was a principal at the Podesta Group in Washington, where he assisted clients in conducting business with governments and businesses in Latin America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Canada and the United States.

Before that, he was international affairs director for Duane Morris Government Strategies, working with clients on trade and investment, joint ventures and distribution matters, and outreach with multilateral development banks and regional authorities.

Featherman also served as the director of the transition team for the assistant secretary-general of the Organization of American States.
