Chile’s Agreement on Education Quality

˙ PREAL Blog

We are pleased to share with you two articles about the agreement reached recently between the government and the opposition in Chile to change the long-standing education law for a new General Law on Education.

Particularly noteworthy is the fact that Chile’s political parties were able to overcome their often bitter ideological differences to reach a serious agreement. Just as important, the agreement puts quality at the core of education policy, and builds clear accountability mechanisms into the education system. The full agreement on quality education is available at the ministry’s website.
