Michael Shifter Named Honorary Professor at the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar

On December 13, 2021, the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar of Quito named Michael Shifter as Honorary Professor at the inauguration ceremony of the international conference titled “América Latina en el contexto mundial pos Covid“. Shifter received this prestigious designation in recognition of his dedication to promoting open and honest dialogue across the Americas and his commitment to strengthening inter-American relations.

The conference took place in Quito, Ecuador on December 13 and 14 and focused on shifting global powers in the post-Covid world. Experts, including Shifter, gathered to discuss significant changes in international systems and politics, how the Latin America region was marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, and the role of multilateral organizations in the region as national and regional governments transition to the post-Covid era.
