Julissa Reynoso, US Ambassador to Spain, received the Global Gift Women's Empowerment Award for her work supporting social programs that improve quality of life and care for immigrants in the United States. She was "recognized for her constant work in devoting much of her time to community work, getting involved with educational, environmental and cultural programs that have an impact on vulnerable communities, minorities and the immigrant population," as well as for being a role model for women around the world. The award celebrates women who through their professional and service work make a difference in the lives of other women and make steps towards greater gender equality. Reynoso received this award at the tenth edition of the Global Gift Gala, held in Marbella, Spain.

Reynoso has served as the US Ambassador to Spain since January 2022. Previously, she she was chief of staff for the First Lady of the United States, Dr. Jill Biden, ambassador of the United States to Uruguay from 2012 to 2014, and a partner at law firm Winston & Strawn in New York. She has also received numerous awards and recognitions throughout her career, including Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, Order of the Quetzal from Guatemala, and Order of Del Valle from Honduras.

Julissa Reynoso is a member-on-leave of the Inter-American Dialogue.
