The Inter-American Dialogue mourns the loss of Dialogue Member Brian O’Neill, who passed away on December 20, 2019 at his home in Jackson Hole, WY. O’Neill had been a member of the Dialogue since 2010 and was an avid supporter of its mission.
Brian O’Neill was the executive vice president of the Inter-American Development Bank since January 2019. He had previously served as vice chair of Lazard International and as the US deputy assistant secretary of the Treasury. O’Neill had extensive experience working with governments, financial institutions, and corporate clients globally. He spent 30 years at JP Morgan Chase & Co., where he was managing director and head of investment banking for Latin America.
O’Neill was a member of the Advisory Committee of the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies at Harvard University, a director of the Americas Society, and a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
