On March 29, 2023, the Inter-American Dialogue hosted a private discussion with Victoria Gama and Arun Pillai-Essex of Verisk Maplecroft, as well as with Alejandro Martínez de Hoz of White & Case, to explore the ever-changing risks and opportunities facing industries of the energy transition.
This report presents an updated review of the Nicaraguan situation after November 2021 and analyzes the gradual increase in repression that has devolved into systematic impunity, particularly through the closure of NGOs. It also looks at the effects of external financing, the pressure of the international community, and international sanctions. This is a research effort led by the Inter-American Dialogue.

The newly appointed President and CEO of the Inter-American Dialogue, Rebecca Bill Chavez, spoke with the Washington Diplomat about her new role and the most urgent priorities in Latin America and the Caribbean.
