Innovating Healthcare in Latin America and the Caribbean

On November 4, 2020, the Dialogue convened the panel discussion “Innovating Healthcare in Latin America and the Caribbean.” Forming the basis for discussion, a recent World Bank survey indicated that treatments for noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), such as diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular disease, are suffering disruptions on a global scale. The conversation highlighted the need for innovation in health systems amidst both the global pandemic and the resultant breakdown of NCDs diagnosis and treatment.

The event featured remarks by Dudley and commentary by Sonja Wolf, and Ricardo Zúñiga. Michael Shifter, president of the Inter-American Dialogue moderated the conversation.

A Conversation with Luis Alberto Moreno

On September 29, the Inter-American Dialogue hosted a wide-ranging conversation with Luis Alberto Moreno, the outgoing president of the Inter-American Development Bank, in recognition of his productive collaboration with the Dialogue and his contributions to our mission for more than two decades. Over 45 Dialogue members convened to listen to Moreno’s perspectives as he reached the end of his 15 years as president of the IDB.
