Henrique de Campos Meirelles is the former president of Banco do Brasil, Brazil’s Central Bank, from 2003 to 2010. He now handles the business development efforts  between Brazil and Latin America for  KKR & Co. L.P., a private equity firm. He has also been president of BankBoston, which he joined in 1974, and president of FleetBoston’s Corporate and Global Bank.  He is also the non-executive chairman of Brazil’s Olympic Public Committee, and is a member of the Board of Directors of Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras, chairman of the Advisory Board of Bedrock, chairman of Lazard Americas, and member of the Board of FTI Consulting.

De Campos Meirelles has participated in advisory boards of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Sloan School of Management of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Carroll School of Management of the Boston College. He was a trustee of the New England Conservatory of Music and of the Institute of Contemporary Arts of Boston, and was the founder of Associação Viva o Centro, an NGO created to revitalize the downtown area in São Paulo. 

Meirelles holds a BS in engineering from the the University of São Paulo and an MBA from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He attended the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program, and also holds an honorary degree from Bryant College.
