Alan Batkin

Alan Batkin is chair and CEO of Converse Associates, a strategic advisory firm. He has been a member of the Inter-American Dialogue since 1995.

From 2007 to 2012, Batkin was vice chair of Eton Park Capital Management, a global, multi-disciplinary investment firm with over $10 billion of capital. Prior to joining Eton Park, he was vice chair of Kissinger Associates, a geopolitical consulting company which advises multi-national companies on business and political issues around the world. From 1972 to 1990, Batkin was an investment banker at Lehman Brothers, where he was a Managing Director from 1976 to 1990 in the corporate finance area.

Batkin is chair emeritus of the International Rescue Committee, having served as co-chair from 2004-2010; chair of the Advisory Board of the Center for Global Health at Massachusetts General Hospital; a member of the Board of Overseers of the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University; a trustee of the New York City Police Foundation and the Brookings Institution; a member of the board of the Millennium Promise; vice-chair of the MDG Health Alliance; and a member of the Trilateral Commission and the Council on Foreign Relations. Batkin served on the Board of Trustees of Beth Israel Medical Center and was, for many years, chair of the Board of Continuum Hospice Care, one of the largest hospices in New York City.

Batkin received a BS degree from the University of Rochester in 1966 and an MBA from New York University in 1968.
