Trends, Needs & Strategies for the Reintegration of Migrants

This fifth and final meeting of a joint collaboration between the Inter-American Dialogue and CAMMINA (Alianza para las migraciones en Centroamérica y México) on migration and development in Central America will focus on the trends, needs, and strategies for the reintegration of migrants returning to their countries of origin. The agenda will cover migrant patterns and trends in the voluntary as well as involuntary return of migrants to Central America. Participants will discuss best practices for the reintegration of migrants into economic and civil life as well as ways in which diaspora communities can support reintegrating migrants. The meeting will open with remarks by Oscar Padilla Lam, foreign affairs minister of Guatemala.
