The Venezuelan Impasse: Perspectives from the Opposition

Event Summary This event has passed.

Almost five months ago, the Venezuelan opposition won a sweeping victory, capturing two-thirds of the seats in the National Assembly—a clear measure of voters’ broad discontent with the country’s spiraling economic crisis. Since then, there has been little progress. The Assembly’s agenda has been largely stymied by the judicial and executive branches. The Dialogue is pleased to welcome three National Deputies representing different opposition parties to discuss their current legislative agenda and political strategy, with an emphasis on the prospects for economic reform and productive dialogue in Venezuela.
