US DRUG POLICY
  • What is US Drug Policy?, hones in on key elements of current US drug policy, points out their strengths and weaknesses, and highlights specific areas for reform.
  • The Dialogue and the Beckley Foundation's 2011 report, Rethinking US Drug Policy, calls for a serious and far-reaching national debate on the costs of current US drug policies and a search for alternative strategies. Its analysis on data was cited in the 2012 US Senate Caucus for Narcotics Control report, "Reducing the US Demand for Illicit Drugs.

ABOUT

The Dialogue in partnership with the Open Society Institute (OSI), Beckley Foundation and the Alvaralice Foundation launched an initiative in 2008 designed to examine alternatives to current US drug policies in the hemisphere and promote debate between the US government and the region to explore multilateral cooperation, alternative rural development, and decriminalization.
