ABOUT THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Policy and program direction of the Inter-American Dialogue resides with the Board of Directors, which also provides financial and administrative oversight. Board members have prime responsibility for defining the substantive agenda of issues that the Dialogue addresses, selecting candidates for Dialogue membership, and shaping our institutional development strategies. On occasion, Board members decide to engage an important or urgent policy issue and make public their recommendations for action.

Directors are also members of the Inter-American Dialogue and participate in our work to build productive ties among Western Hemisphere nations. Our Board is drawn largely from Latin American and Caribbean nations as well as the United States and Canada. The group incorporates a diversity of political and professional perspectives, but all share a commitment to democratic rule, social equity, and economic cooperation in the Americas.
