Education in Haiti

˙ PREAL Blog

We are pleased to share with you a PREAL report on education in Haiti. The report offers an overview of Haiti’s education system—both, of those aspects that need improvement, and of some promising initiatives taking place in the country.

It also identifies the key priorities to improve education in Haiti, and it issues a series of recommendations for the government, the private sector, and donors. The report was prepared by Laurence Wolff, an expert in education with vast experience at the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and a PREAL consultant. It was recently launched at a meeting at the Inter-American Dialogue in Washington, DC, and discussed by Haitian Ambassador to the US Raymond Joseph; Senior Vice-President of the International Crisis Group, Mark Schneider; and Education Sector Manager (LAC region) at the World Bank, Chingboon Lee.
